Industrial Drying Systems
Our Heat Pump Drying systems can drastically reduce energy costs for drying a wide variety of products. The systems are designed for drying any product that is ideally dried between 40°F and 200°F (4°C and 93°C).  Conventional systems bring in air from outside the process, heat it to the process temperature and use it to evaporate the water from the product. The air and water are then exhausted to the atmosphere.  As a result, the energy used to evaporate the water and heat the air that carries the water is all lost to the atmosphere. Instead, our Heat Pump systems circulate the air over the cold coil of a refrigeration system, condensing the water vapor back to water. This recovers the energy from vaporization and eliminates venting the air.  The result is that energy requirement can be reduced up to 60% Undesired emissions of chemicals released in many drying processes are reduced by 80%-100% and CO2 by approximately 60%.

These systems are used for drying food products such as fruit, vegetables, fish, croutons and other products. They are also used for drying products such as paint where high temperature drying might affect color and appearance. They are ideal for use when the process includes some chemicals that would be better condensed than exhausted into the atmosphere.

Occasionally, it is not practical to convert drying systems to complete recycled dehumidification systems because the existing dryer may not easily lend themselves to that. In those cases, our Heat Pumps are best used to recover the heat from the exhausted air. Unlike traditional heat recovery systems, the heat can be delivered to the process at higher temperature than the exhaust air stream.

Commercial and Industrial Dehumidification
We have built hybrid Dehumidification Heat Pump systems for lithium battery testing that essentially eliminate the water vapor from the air. Dew point temperatures as low as -60°F (-51°C) can be achieved and our unique way of doing this saves a considerable amount of energy and reduces capital costs. When the dew point temperature is above 36°F (3°C) then our dehumidification technology is the most reliable and economical way to deliver dry air. It is more economical and much lower in energy consumption than systems that use desiccants in the conventional manner. If the dew point temperature needs to be below 36°F (3°C), then we build a combination desiccant / refrigeration system that is both more energy efficient and more cost effective than the traditional application.

Our systems can be supplied to bring in outside air and pressurize an area of a building to keep it dry for product storage. They are also used in pipe galleries to prevent corrosion from condensation on piping. They are even used in freezers by one frozen food manufacturer to prevent frost on the product when assembling ready to eat dinners.

Since Nyle’s founding in 1977 we have been the dehumidification expert with over 4,000 Heat Pump Drying systems installed across the US and Canada. Our systems have been installed on every continent except Antarctica. and the leadership in innovative technology continues to today. All systems are made to specifications.
